Soft Beaters give your drum more of a softer vibration, where hard beaters give you a sharper initial sound. These soft beaters are made with a sewn & stuffed elk suede head and are better for larger drums.  Mandi and I cut the beater sticks from our land in Washington. They are recommended for painted drums, but are suitable for any drum.  They are stuffed with poly fill, and for $5 more, we have a limited supply of amazingly soft alpaca hair stuffing for your beater.
